Aquilla

Aquilla is a Valkyrie General, and a young priestess of the Moon Tribe in the Ticalla Jungle who discovered a subterranean Wellspring. Her best friend is Sujoah, a pet burrfly which has grown to tremendous size as a result of the Wellspring's magical effects. She fights against the contamination the Marro have brought to her neighboring jungles and swamps. To this end, she joined Jandar, Ullar, Vydar and Einar in the Alliance against Utgar. A number of her units are local to the jungles of Ticalla and nearby Feldspar.

History

Some time before the Swarm of the Marro, she stumbled into an underground wellspring and drank from its water, gaining the powers of a Valkyrie. She was not the only one affected; her pet burrfly Sujoah grew to a gigantic size as well. She grew to be a guardian of the Moon Tribe's secrets and a preserver of the natural life in Ticalla Jungle, and suggested earning the friendship of the native Fyorlag Spiders:

“Remember, young warrior, there is a great power within the pools of the ancients, a kinship with the planet and its many creatures. Each pool is guarded by an ancient animal totem of the Green Leaf Tribe. Those who befriend these jungle creatures may drink freely of the pools, safe in knowing that these fearsome beasts will defend you as if you were one of their own.” – Aquilla of the Moon Tribes

Years later, when she was grown, her Moon Tribe would take in an injured Sgt. Drake Alexander, Raelin, Shiori, Sonlen and Major Q10 after their mission to destroy the Marro Hive. They would assist her further in protecting her lands against the remainder of the Marro threat, and she joined the Alliance of generals against Utgar.

Utgar, in an attempt to cut off supplies from the northern generals to Aquilla's domain, would attempt to invade Feldspar Pass, destroying the native environment of the Quasatch in the process, whom Aquilla protects.

Additional Info

She was described by Sgt. Drake as tall and beautiful, with flawless deep red brown skin, similar to other Kyrie of the Moon Tribe. Her hair is long and black. Several ornamented braids of varying thickness hang alongside her silky smooth tresses.

Aquilla was the first general introduced to the game beyond the original five, and raised many questions when she was first introduced by way of Master Win Chiu Woo as the Gencon 2007 promotional figure. Fans would have to wait almost a year until Aquilla's Alliance to find out more about her.

Classic Era Figures

Aquilla received few figures in the original line, as she was introduced only a year before Wizard of the Coast's acquisition of the Heroscape brand and subsequent pivot to the Dungeons and Dragons subtheme. Of particular note is Sujoah, who is her personal friend and pet burrfly.
