The Ursine Knight Irene from Noxdorma has mechanical claws.
"A world of Ursine knights and furry inventors where the fires of industry stoke mechanical revolutions."[1]
Noxdorma is a world of animalistic folk with advanced steam-powered, clockwork and industrial technology. It contained a valuable fuel source called cyaline, whose mining and refinement powered new marvels of war.[2] In its distant future, the world went through a Shattering into a collection of asteroids drifting through space, where the strange and deathly Eisenek species desperately tried to find a solution to fuel infinite offworld expansion.[3][4]
Overview of Noxdorma[]
Topography[]
Noxdorma has an arctic region whose territories were guarded by the Frostclaw Clan and sometimes besieged by their rival Gnarlfur Clan.[5] Otherwise, it has rolling plains of elaborate clockwork cities with high towers, as well as more decrepit slums, alleys, and areas of devastation caused by the rise of war between the Great Western Warrens and Cynodont Hegemony Vorid factions, as well as environmental damage brought on by mining for cyaline.[6][7]
Peoples[]
Noxdorma is home to several species.
Wildlife[]
No known wildlife on Noxdorma at this time.
Regions[]
Noxdorma's winter-blasted territory belonged to the Frostclaw Clan and their kind and was besieged by the Gnarlfur Clan.[8] The Cynodont Hegemony seems to control Vorid cities, and fights for dominion against the Great Western Warrens.[9]
Fort Buckthorn[]
A fort that was contested by both the Great Western Warrens and the Cynodont Hegemony, before the Warrens ultimately broke through with Imperator Kayne's assistance.[2]
Westdam[]
Westdam was an area torn apart by war and left behind by industry, where some Vorids formed street gangs and fought over cyaline scraps to survive.[7]
Noxdorma's History[]
At a pivotal point in Noxdorma's history, the world was torn apart by constant war, and most knights did not live to see old age.[10] The Frostclaw Clan endured endless, and eventually successful, attempts by the neighboring Gnarlfur Clan to conquer their land and subjugate their people.[8] The knights were able to receive help from neighboring Vorid cities, upgrading their gear in order to continue their battle.[11]
A revolution occurred in Vorid warfare when the Cynodont Hegemony developed methods of aerial travel, including battleblimps, ornithopters, wingsuits, and jetpacks.[12][13] They clashed repeatedly with the Great Western Warrens, and their war left devastation for some Vorid communities.[7] War generals like Imperator Kayne and Air Marshall Zed Nesbitt gained heroic reputations, even as they paved the way for new industry to follow.[2] Noxdorma had, among other amenities, coinage and newspapers.
At some point in its far future, Noxdorma went through an event called the Shattering which reduced it to a collection of asteroids and drifting particles, and the Eisenek were left among the remains.[3] While Iron Lich Viscerot worked on discovering an equation that would fuel infinite Eisenek expansion, he commanded Scavorith, Lord of Ruin to harvest what cyaline could be drawn from the remains of the planet. At this time, Eisenek starships such as the Terror were derelict in space, and their voyages met with gruesome ends.[14] However, eventually both Viscerot and Scavorith's efforts would come to naught, and both would be saved from eternal starvation by the Valkyrie Revna.[4][3]
